Embroidery of Fez
Dot embroidery or fassie embroidery in reference to the city of Fez, is part of the traditional trades ancestral, one of the arts practiced by Moroccan women for centuries. It is an inheritance that is bequeathed from generation to generation; the mother passes it on to her daughter or takes her to the dedicated workshops where the elementary principles will be taught. Embroidery is an art which the Fassie family can not do without; the woman practices either to embroider items for herself or for her family, or even to sell them.
